About the Department
The Department of Physics was established in 1990, initially offering Physics as an ancillary subject.
It was upgraded to a major department in 2003.
The department is equipped with advanced laboratories and has produced university rank holders.
It also focuses on practical knowledge like medical instrumentation, electrical appliances, and mobile communication to make students industry ready.
Vision
The Department aspires to provide the best scientific methods in teaching the basic principles of Physics,
maintaining high standards in education and promoting applications in various technologies.

- ASTRO – Annual Department Programme with seminars, science quiz, and discussions.
- Guest lectures by experts from IIT, ISRO, IIAP, CECRI, etc.
- Encouraging students to appear in UGC NET/SET and competitive exams.
- National Science Day celebrated with model display competition every February 28.
