About the Department
The Department of English was established in 1990 to empower women in and around Rajapalayam to meet global challenges.
The B.A. English programme began in 2003 with 28 students and 4 faculty members. Today, it has grown to 200 students and 9 faculty.
The department fosters a global literary and communicative environment, nurturing students with professional expertise and essential life skills.
Vision
To foster personal and intellectual growth through the study of literature by developing critical thinking,
creativity, cultural understanding, and ethical values. The department aims to nurture confident, articulate,
and socially responsible individuals who can contribute meaningfully to education, society, and the world.
