About the Department

1990 – ஆம் ஆண்டு இக்கல்லூரியில் பொதுத்தமிழ் (Part- I Paper) பாடப்பிரிவில் மட்டும் மாணவிகளுக்கு பயிற்சி அளிக்கப்பட்டது.
2016 – ஆம் ஆண்டு இளங்கலை தமிழிலக்கியப் பாடப்பிரிவு தொடங்கப்பட்டு தற்போது 125 மாணவிகள் பயின்று வருகின்றனர். மாணவிகளின் பண்பாடு, கலாச்சாரம் மற்றும் படைப்பாற்றலை வளர்க்கும் பயிலரங்கங்கள், உரையரங்கங்கள், சிறப்புரைகள் போன்ற பல நிகழ்வுகளை தமிழ்த்துறை ஏற்பாடு செய்து வருகிறது. தமிழ்மொழி பற்றும் மாணவிகளை உருவாக்கும் நோக்கத்துடன் சிறப்பாக செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.

Vision

To nurture a community of young women who are proficient in Tamil language and literature, and who embody the rich cultural heritage of Tamil Nadu. We aim to produce leaders, poets, and thinkers who will contribute to the preservation and promotion of Tamil culture.

To impart knowledge of Tamil language and literature that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and communication.
To promote cultural awareness and appreciation among students through programs and activities.
To nurture leadership qualities, making students confident, articulate, and socially responsible.
To encourage creative writing, public speaking, and performance for skill development.
